Edinburgh Mathematical Society Hosted Prof. Raul Tempone for a Pioneering Lecture in Dundee.
The Edinburgh Mathematical Society (EMS), established in 1883 as a cornerstone of the Scottish Mathematical Sciences community, hosted an invited lecture by Prof. Raúl Tempone. Holding the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Chair of Mathematics for Uncertainty Quantification, Prof. Tempone delivered the talk “Navigating the Unknown: Harnessing Uncertainty in Renewable Energy and Heart Health.”
The lecture took place on Friday, 24th November 2024, from 15:30 to 16:30 in Fulton F20, and offered insights into applying mathematical principles in critical areas of renewable energy and heart health. The Mathematics Division of the School of Science and Engineering at Dundee University hosted the event.
This lecture represented an opportunity for students, academics, and professionals in mathematics and related disciplines to engage with cutting-edge research and innovative approaches to uncertainty quantification. The EMS continued its tradition of facilitating such vital exchanges of knowledge and ideas, further cementing its role in advancing mathematical sciences in Scotland.
